Tappan made straightforward stoves that worked well and continue to serve kitchens around the country. They didn’t add a lot of frills and they didn’t go overboard on flashiness, either. But they had cool mid-century designs and are reliable partners for any kitchen.
I often say that anything made before 1956 can outperform anything made after 1956 and this is one of the reasons why. This ” above average” stove from the early 50s will outlast anything made nowadays and perform steadily with a sense of flair for decades to come.
