A lot of people ask how to tell the difference between a Chambers model A, B and C, but there isn’t a lot of accurate information in one place.

This is an attempt to be both comprehensive and accurate about the main details of the most popular Chambers models. If you spot anything missing, just let me know.

Model A

Made: Late 1935 – 1938

(Note: I am on record stating the model A began production in 1936. However, since then, I have discovered 2 prototype As from 1935 and one production model also dated 1935.)

Model C Key:

61C: Low backsplash, 3 burners

90C: High backsplash, 3 burners

41C: 4 burners, high or low backsplash

31C: 4 burners, no griddle or broiler

One last note on the C:

The 41C and 31C were thought of as “bargain” models. They often, but not always, came with plastic dials instead of the chrome ones most Chambers lovers are familiar with.
