The 12-B included what Chambers called their “standard backsplash with salt and pepper shakers.” Since this backsplash was introduced with the model A, A LOT of online sources misidentify this stove incorrectly. The fact is, this backsplash was available, unchanged, from 1935 through 1948.

Not that, also contrary to what you may read elsewhere, the serial number on a model B does NOT tell you what year it was made unless it was 1947 or 1948. All other years of production share the same identifier. That’s why my model Bs give a date range, not a precise year.

This stove is perfect for The Basics – while it does have some very small chips that can be touched up, the black top is nice and shiny. This will look great in your kitchen once it’s done.
