The Chambers Imperial was the name given to the large, commercial ranges Chambers made in 1935. The brochure advertising them said they were “popular for large homes, tea rooms, restaurants and institutions.” At almost 5 feet long, a large home would still be helpful for installing this stove.

This particular Imperial has 6 burners, no Thermowell, an oversize griddle and broiler, a 22″ oven and an 18″ oven.

A lever on the right lifts up the griddle to reveal the broiler below, so don’t install this one up against a wall. It weighs close to 800 lbs, so make sure your floors are strong enough for this one before you install it!

This stove came out of the historic home known as the Reading Furnace in Reading, PA. Pictures of this stove being used in the home can be found on pages 173-4 of the book about the house by Estelle Cremers. A copy of the book will be included with the stove.
