1930 Chambers Model 4711 with Thermodome and Autostat
Model: 4711 in Light Green & Ivory
Approximate Age: 1930
Made in: Shelbyville, Indiana
Cooktop Height: 34.5″
The Chambers 4000 series was identical in construction to the 3000 series models, but the 4000 series included an autostat – Chambers’ first attempt at an oven regulator that was designed to make it easy to cook with the gas off.
This one is all original and labeled LG & I for light green and ivory. The green is closer to a light mint green, despite the blueish hue the sunlight lends it in these pictures.
This stove features a broiler and oven on the left, with an autostat to regulate the oven temperature. The fully intact Thermodome mechanism allows for slow cooking just like in the video below (or the ones that Beth made that you can find on my videos page).
